CONSULTING

Four areas where I do my best work.

Data and digital transformation consulting for organisations working at the intersection of AI governance, analytics delivery, and regulated digital transformation. Data analysis. Programme management. Technical documentation. Workforce and capability work.

AREAS OF WORK

Four kinds of work I take on.

AI governance and customer voice analytics

You have AI or analytics tools embedded in decision-making: sentiment analysis, demand forecasting, NLP, or operational AI. The model works in testing but no one is sure how it's actually shaping decisions in production. You need a clear-eyed assessment of how the system is mediating organisational judgement, and a plan to govern it properly.

Senior programme and project delivery

A digital transformation programme that's stalled, slipped, or never quite hit production. Healthcare, financial services, telecoms, or other regulated environments where compliance and operational reality both matter. You need someone who can step into the ambiguity, untangle competing priorities, and rebuild delivery confidence.

Data analysis and analytics enablement

Your data team is generating insight that isn't quite landing in decisions, or the analytics function needs structure: real-time KPI dashboards, predictive modelling, customer voice analytics, or technical documentation for data pipelines and ingestion frameworks. Skilled across SQL, Python, Power BI, Apache Spark, and R.

Workforce and capability transformation

You've made the technology investment but the workforce hasn't caught up. Training redesign, peer-support systems, real-time operational analytics, or a Design Science Research-led intervention into attrition or capability gaps. The kind of work where the dashboard isn't the answer, the operational redesign is.

HOW I WORK

The principles before the methodology.

Diagnose before you prescribe.

Most consulting work fails because the diagnosis was wrong. I will spend more time than feels comfortable understanding the operational reality before proposing what to do about it. The first engagement is usually a structured diagnostic.

Documentation is the work.

Engagements end. The documentation outlives them. Anything I deliver is structured to be picked up by the next person in the chair. This is not about producing volume. It is about producing artefacts that hold up under operational stress.

Evidence over folklore.

Organisations run on stories they tell themselves. "Gen-Zs don't stay." "Our customers want X." "The model is biased." Sometimes these are true. Often they aren't. I bring the analytical discipline to test the story before the organisation builds a transformation programme around it.

WAYS TO WORK TOGETHER

Three formats. Pick the one that fits.

2-4 weeks

Diagnostic engagement

A structured assessment of a specific area, with a written diagnosis and a recommended path forward. Useful when you know something needs to change but not yet what to do about it.

3-12 months

Programme partnership

Embedded delivery, governance, or transformation work alongside an internal team. Usually senior programme management, AI governance design, or analytics enablement at scale.

Ongoing, monthly

Advisory retainer

A monthly conversation plus on-call support for organisations already running the work but wanting a second pair of senior eyes. Useful for CIOs, transformation leaders, or operations leads navigating decisions with long consequences.

LET'S TALK

Tell me what you're working on.

If any of the areas above sound like the work you're trying to do, I'd like to hear from you. The first conversation is always free, and ends with a clear answer either way: this is something I can help with, or this is who you should talk to instead.
